We are looking for an Assistant Manager, Investment Operations & Finance
Role description
Reporting to the Manager, Investment Operations & Finance, the Assistant Manager, Investment Operations and Finance is responsible for supporting and participating in a wide range of operational and financial management activities of the Canadian Investment Division. The Assistant Manager, Investment Operations and Finance will work in a team of 4 to 5 individuals and will be accountable for the following activities:
What you will do
Develop analysis and reporting for the Canadian Investment Division’s operations and expenses to facilitate effective operational and financial management of the division, such as monthly expense reporting to both the Canadian Investment and the Canadian segment executive leadership teams
Support and develop expense forecasts and the annual expense budget for the Canadian Investment Division
Conduct operational reviews of external borrowers of Canada Life, ensuring adherence to contractual obligations for new and existing Investment business
Conduct fund oversight activities to ensure fund managers follow documented policies and procedures relating to fund management activities
Provide support on strategic projects or other responsibilities as identified
What you will bring
Professional accounting designation, working toward completion of a designation, or equivalent experience
4-5 years accounting and finance experience
High level effective oral and written communication skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with mathematical aptitude
Experience in Management Accounting considered an asset
Experience with SAP Accounting System considered an asset
Adaptable to changing work demands
Demonstrated attention to detail
