Location: Vancouver, BC (PST)
While we’d strongly prefer this position to be in Vancouver, we’re open to candidates working remotely.
We are looking for Junior Accountant, Accounting Operations to join our growing Finance team. Reporting to the Financial Controller, full-cycle accounting experience and fundamental/core knowledge of accounting practices and principles is required for this position. The ideal candidate is self-driven, organized, has strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
General accounting functions:
Check, verify and process accounts payable data
Prepare accounts payable payment run (EFT, ACH or wire transfer)
Analyze discrepancies and unpaid invoices
Maintain vendor files
Administer and reconcile the company’s corporate credit cards
Liaise with vendors
Daily general accounting and other operational activities and work with the team to ensure timely and accurate postings of transactions
Record bank deposits
Prepare, reconcile, post and maintain prepaids schedules
Prepare GST, PST, US Sales Tax and other sales tax returns for review
Collaborate with other areas and members of the finance department as needed
Complete additional projects or related duties as required
General payroll functions:
Collect, confirm and process payroll including onboarding and offboarding
Track and reconcile employees’ vacation pay
Process employees’ expense reports
Prepare and process commissions
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business Administration with at least 3 – 5 years of full-cycle accounting experience required.Strong knowledge of principles of accounting with the ability to apply them in a practical way
Proficient/ advanced user in Excel
Excellent communication skills
Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and work within established deadlines and time constraints
Ability to act on own initiative, to exercise sound judgment and can work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
Self-motivated with a high level of initiative and a sense of urgency
Excellent problem solving and analytical thinking skills
Experience with Quickbooks Online, Procurify and SaaSOptics is an asset

Able to communicate accounting issues, trends, and policies to a variety of audiences.
Can work independently but also be a strong team player and is self-motivated with a sense of urgency
Excellent work ethic and not afraid to roll up their sleeves to get things done
