Reporting directly to the Operations Manager – 3PL, IC Transportation, the role involves the following:

Own relationships between shifts, peers, and department team members to build partnerships and maximize performance.
Collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure timely and cost/ time effective deliveries to and from our DC’s to stores and customers within the domestic network.
Proactively work with internal and external partners on delivery issues, seeking resolution in a timely manner.
Coordinate Direct to customer carrier from DC ship to Customer receipt.
Lead all new store shipment coordination, store returns and special store shipment activities.
Lead Company truck equipment management (Lease, insurance, Ministry of Transportation requirements.)
Internal/External DC Operations
Coordinate DC invoicing SAP activities and required follow-up
Partner with DC leaders for other facilities requests/concerns
Using Orca analytics and in conjunction with their team, manage cost and benefit analysis
Support RFP execution
Assist in developing recommendations to address business issues based on an understanding of omni channel distribution and industry
Complete daily, weekly, monthly reports as required
Lead, coach and manage 1 direct report – Driver.
Effectively collaborate and communicate with internal business partners (shift counterparts, Store operations, Logistics, Planning, etc.)
Supervisory and budgetary responsibilities.
Understand and properly manage all production levers that impact your functional area productivity rates while maintaining high levels of service, quality, and morale.
Identify ways to reduce expenditure in DC’s transportation network.
Required Experience:
Qualifications:
Minimum of 1-2 years in similar operations, and/or transportation area.
Working knowledge of warehouse shipping operations and warehouse management systems preferred.
Effective project management skills with experience in leading deployment efforts of new systems and enhancement of existing systems.
Must possess excellent negotiation and analytical skills.
Ability to operate in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
Ability to motivate and develop staff in sustaining an effective team.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access & PowerPoint, Business Objects (or other data mining software), and information systems across various supply chain functions.
Detailed knowledge of Canadian domestic transportation principals and best practices for TL, LTL, Rail and Parcel required.
Must have the ability to maintain effective working relationships through excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
Proven analytical, influence and negotiation skills required.
Physical Demands:
Use general office equipment to include a computer, printer, copier, telephone, and calculator.
Occasionally lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
Comply with Blackout Periods (no vacation or personal time allowed) as determined by Management.
