Cost Accountant Cavendish Farms is currently seeking an individual for the position of Cost Accountant to be based in New Annan, Prince Edward Island. Cavendish Farms is a leading producer of frozen potato products for retail and foodservice markets throughout Canada, the United States and around the world. We have state-of-the-art processing plants in New Annan, PE, Lethbridge, AB, Wheatley, ON, and Jamestown, ND. The head offices located in Dieppe, NB and sales locations in Toronto, Montreal and Boston. Reporting to the Cost Accounting Manager, the Cost Accountant will be a self-starter with a strong work ethic, “Can Do” attitude and the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
Successful Candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- Data entry of site information for cost report generation
- Prepare and analyze daily and monthly management reports in manner that meets required timelines
- Work with the Senior Cost Accountant to analyze production variances
- Assist in year-end reporting and in ensuring compliance with all internal/external audit requirements
- Assist in the annual budgeting process
- Prepare information for the Company’s Performance Scorecard process
- Proven analytical and problem solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast paced, dynamic work environment
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
Qualifications:
- University Degree, Community College, Technical diploma in Accounting, or equivalent work experience
- Working towards or desire to pursue a professional accounting designation
- Similar experience in a manufacturing environment is an asset
- Demonstrated computer skills (MS Excel is a must, JD Edwards preferred)
Salary Range $50,000-$60,000
