Centennial Auto Group Looking for Staff Accountant at Summerside, PE Full Time

LOCATION: Centennial Carstar, Summerside, Prince Edward Island

HOURS: Full time, permanent, 40 hours per week.

WAGES: $20.00 – $25.00 per hour + benefits (negotiable based on experience and qualifications)

We are looking for a strong communicator and skilled individual who will work daily with our 6 Carstar stores in PEI, NB and NS. APPLICABLE SKILLS:
Post-secondary education in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience is preferred

Minimum of 3 to 5 years of accounting experience

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (primarily Excel) and in Google Workspace

Experience in QuickBooks accounting software is considered a strong asset

Must be dependable and able to work independently

Ability to proactively identify problems, develop solutions and act to resolve issues in assigned areas

Good organizational skills, analytical skills, time management and prioritization abilities.

Balances team and individual responsibilities

JOB TASKS:
Support accounts payable and accounts receivable with data entry, customer inquiries, vendor research and statement reconciliations

Prepares general ledger journal entries, periodic balance sheet reconciliations

Assist in the preparation of balance sheets, income statements, and other financial statements according to legal and company accounting and financial guidelines.

Assist with reviewing of expenses etc. as assigned

Update financial data in databases to ensure that information will be accurate and immediately available when needed.

Prepare and submit reports as required.

Propose new ideas as you see fit to improve the efficiency of the department overall.

Assists with sales tax compliance
