In 2020, we reset and refocused the business around the Toronto facilities for cookies, while adding Wewalka US, a rolled dough company with an excellent reputation and distribution across the US retailers, to our portfolio.
In March 2021, US Waffle, leader in pancakes & waffles joined the Cerelia family; in June 2021, we will open a new, state-of-the art, 170,000 sqft factory in Columbus, Ohio.

POSITION TITLE: Purchasing/Inventory Coordinator
POSITION: Salary

Primary Responsibilities
The Purchasing/Inventory Coordinator prepares and maintains the daily activities of the plant operation to ensure the delivery of high quality service to Cérélia customers, sales team and plant operations. This role also serves as a back-up to the Logistics Supervisor by assisting with inventory and purchasing duties as needed.
Essential Job Duties:
Assists with managing inventory, purchasing and MRP system
Maintains daily levels and accuracy of inventory activities of raw and finished goods by analyzing, investigating and evaluating
Prepares and assists with forecast reports and ensures that the customer order process is complete and accurate
Maintains daily customer service support activities by analyzing, investigating and correcting order entries as needed,
Reconcile shipping/receiving reports, data entry and maintaining spreadsheets
Place stock and supply orders
Problem solving customer issues
Supports the Customer Service Department which includes general communication via phone/email/fax, as well as greeting visitors and guests in person
Works on assignments within accepted guidelines where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of issues
Exercises judgment to determine appropriate action within accepted procedures and practices
Builds productive working relationships internally and externally
Overtime and/or weekend hours may be required based on work demand. Employee must be flexible with these hours.
Perform other duties as assigned and/or required.
Entrance Qualifications
High school diploma or GED
2-5 years’ experience in purchasing and inventory management, preferably in a manufacturing environment
MRP & ERP systems a must
Excellent computer skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Understanding of customer services procedures
Must have good command of the English language, both written and verbal
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with other departments and build strong working relationships, combined with an approachable disposition
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Enthusiastic learner and proactive individual with the ability to effectively manage various projects concurrently.
A results-oriented individual with excellent time management, problem solving and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and deliver high-quality results within specified time frames
Attention to detail, ability to prioritize and make judgments, and a sense of urgency will be important to the candidate’s success
Must be comfortable working in an entrepreneurial spirited, fast-paced and changing workplace environment with a desire to make a strong impact on the business.
Must have excellent initiative, be a self-starter with a keen attention to details.
