This position will deliver end-to-end logistics support for the Canadian Business Unit, including both category management of Logistics contracts through day-to-day execution of safe and reliable logistics support.
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
The Logistics Lead component of the role has overall responsibility for logistics solutions including operational excellence, systems set-up, and working with tactical logistics coordinators throughout the various operations supported by the business unit. This role will work closely with leadership for Major Capital Projects (MCP)’s and BU-led projects to ensure efficient, reliable, and compliant logistics activities. Provides analytics and oversight for logistical support to Drilling & Completion (D&C), Facilities, Operations, and the Supply Chain Management (SCM) team, identifying the most reliable and cost-effective service delivery models. Identifies and develops new business models and workflows to improve logistics solutions throughout all geographic areas in which CBU operates to improve cycle times and lower the total cost of ownership. Prepares transportation reporting and communicate to operational teams and SCM management. Identifies appropriate timing and usage of advanced logistics solutions.
The Category Manager component of the role is to ensure strong business partner alignment with CBU objectives through development of opportunities and strategic supplier relationships and performance management utilizing category management strategies and tools. Establish category delivery strategies and tactical plans, cross functional teams with clear roles and responsibilities to deliver highest possible business partner performance for CBU. Lead the spend analysis and segmentation of categories based on spend and long-term demand planning to jointly identify opportunities with business partners. Manage the development and approval of sourcing strategies, taking into consideration both strategic and tactical levers through the application of appropriate sourcing tools and optimizing supplier relationship. Manage strategic sourcing process. Identify overall value creation opportunities. Ensure compliance with government (local, federal, etc) expectations and all Chevron policies and procedures. Provide mentoring and/or day-to-day direction to less experienced staff.
Provide ad-hoc supply chain management support to the Supply Chain Management team, as required.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor´s Degree (preferably in Business, Supply Chain or related technical fields i.e. Engineering)
5+ years combined experience in logistics operations, category management, and technical experience in upstream product service lines in Drilling & Completion, Facilities and Operations
Experience in continuous improvement and delivering optimized total cost of ownership
Demonstrated proficiency identifying opportunities, developing category strategies and managing supplier relationships
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in SMART by GEP or similar
Demonstrates understanding of business drivers and developing plans to meet objectives. Excellent analytical, negotiation and influencing skills focused on making data-driven decisions to drive value for the business unit. Demonstrated impactful results for key business drivers, whether from project planning and execution or SCM strategies, with focus on analytics and performance metrics.
Demonstrated strong performance and ability to influence and lead change and drive key business results working with cross-functional subject matter experts. Demonstrated strong OE focus, interpersonal and communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in multi-discipline and diverse teams to effectively deliver results. Interacts effectively with internal and external business partners. Experience proactively identifying and implementing improvement opportunities, taking initiative to implement those both within and beyond specific areas of responsibility.
