The Senior Java Developer – FI Trade Processing Services is responsible for participation in the establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to contribute to applications systems analysis and programming activities.
This role provides the opportunity to participate in and shape the expansion and pre-eminence of our Business working together with our team of highly skilled technologists. Responsibilities:
Conduct tasks related to feasibility studies, time and cost estimates, IT planning, risk technology, applications development, model development, and establish and implement new or revised applications systems and programs to meet specific business needs or user areas.
Monitor and control all phases of development process and analysis, design, construction, testing, and implementation as well as provide user and operational support on applications to business users.
Utilize in-depth specialty knowledge of applications development to analyze complex problems/issues, provide evaluation of business process, system process, and industry standards, and make evaluative judgement.
Recommend and develop security measures in post implementation analysis of business usage to ensure successful system design and functionality.
Consult with users, clients, and other technology groups on issues.
Recommend advanced programming solutions, and install and assist customer exposure systems
Ensure essential procedures are followed and help define operating standards and processes.
Serve as advisor or coach to analysts.
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm’s reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets.
Driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Develop common, reusable components and services utilizing Citi’s best practices.
Create high performance, low latency applications leveraging existing Citi framework.
Ensure strong reliability, scalability, and performance of our components.
Liaise with technical and business teams to collaborate on identifying opportunities and solutions.
Execute on our technical strategy.
Coordinate development with both internal technology teams and business.
Adhere to engineering standards and strive for best in class.
Assist in third line support during core trading hours.
Qualifications:
6+ years of relevant development experience.
Excellent knowledge in Java (JDK 1.8 or more) Experience with SpringBoot, KAFKA, GRPC, ECS, Mongo, REST API, JUNIT and SQL/PLSQL Basics.
Java performance tuning.
Kubernetes, OpenShift, Gradle, Splunk, Prometheus
Experience in systems analysis and programming of software applications.
Experience in managing and implementing successful projects.
Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements
Experience in building applications delivered on cloud-based services.
Strong knowledge of Core Java principles, Spring (Core, MVC, JDBC), JDBC/JPA/ORM, JSON
Experience in Web API implementations with RESTful services is preferable.
Experience with distributed messaging systems (Kafka)
Experience with the design and implementation of cloud-ready applications and deployment via Kubernetes / Open shift.
Good knowledge of SQL.
Experience working on a Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) environment.
Strong knowledge of standard mechanisms for build (Maven), continuous integration (Jenkins), code quality analysis (SonarQube) and unit/integration testing (Junit and Mockito).

Education:
Bachelors or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline.
