Chief Administrative Officer

The City of Guelph is seeking its next Chief Administrative Officer (CAO).
Reporting to and advising a Council consisting of the Mayor and twelve Councillors, the CAO oversees the administration and operations of the City and its $550M+ operating budget by providing strategic leadership and direction to a talented municipal leadership team to develop and deliver excellence in programs and services that align with Council’s direction and the City’s Strategic Plan.
As an ideal candidate, you are a respected, values-oriented executive leader with a strong business and financial acumen and demonstrated skill in facilitating change and growth in a large and complex operational environment. An outstanding communicator who engenders trust and confidence, you have a track record of creating effective relationships based on authenticity, trust and transparency across a broad constituency of public and private stakeholders. You are highly regarded for your strong judgment, diplomacy, political acuity, negotiation skill, conviction and ability to bring parties together in pursuit of common goals. Forward thinking with an art of the possible mindset, you are highly outcomes oriented and bring a passion for building communities. Most importantly, you are a visible, inspiring, and collaborative team leader who enjoys coaching and building cohesive and high performing teams united in a culture of continuous improvement and enhancing client service excellence.
