The Opportunity
As our top candidate, you will be responsible for strategic leadership of property management services for facilities under the department’s purview. This will include a combination of managerial, technical resource, and field project work. Your successful planning and organizational skills will be needed to proactively track and manage service deliverables, project timelines, and resource management. As an active member of our management team, you will develop and manage budgets; and collect, analyze, and report relevant data and trends. We’ll rely on your seasoned people skills to manage and mentor a dedicated staff group and ensure a respectful work environment that fosters growth, customer service, and teamwork. Your ability to successfully navigate through issues and problems as they arise, will also be key to your success.
Property Planning, Projects, and Systems Management
As our resident expert, you will proactively assess property needs, space planning, and design; and manage a variety of internal requests related to these areas, including functional renovations. Additionally, you will manage building security systems and planning; and oversee periodic building demolitions and deconstruction projects. Assisting and advising on Public Art and Monument projects will also be within the scope of this work.
Service Agreement Management
Your advanced relationship skills will be needed to maintain service level agreements with City departments, including tenant requirements, operational costs, and property support services. This will be complemented by your seasoned negotiation skills to develop and manage multiple vendor contracts to deliver property management services that include furnishings, custodial services, and parking lot preventative maintenance and snow removal. Contract management will also encompass facility components of Lease, Fee-For-Service, and similar occupancy agreements. As Facility Services’ work is typically varied and continually evolving, other duties may include involvement in any other assignments related to the department’s services.
