City of Orillia Looking for Program Coordinator at Orillia, Ontario, Canada Full Time

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Corporation of the City of Orillia has an opening for the casual position of Program Coordinator in the Recreation, Youth and Culture Division of the Corporate Services Department.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Work with the Communications Division to coordinate the graphic design for webpages, social media, posters, signs and flyers.
• Assist with production of seasonal Recreation Program Guides by building programs using Active Net.
• Coordinate preschool, child and youth and adult programs, including drop-in and registered programs, sports, day-camps, special events and other recreational opportunities.
• Develop and update trainings ensuring proper implementation of policies and procedures is given to all program staff.
• Manage weekly scheduling of all program staff in addition to tracking and bi-weekly payroll processes.
• Recruit, hire, train, and supervise recreation programming staff. Complete performance appraisals annually for staff.
• Provide insight to the Recreation Program Supervisor regarding the development of the programs budget for operational purposes.
• Perform front-line cashier duties and respond to public inquiries including general questions and notifying customers of cancellations or changes to programs.
• Develop strategies to ensure programming is adapted to participant needs to support a diverse and inclusive environment.
• Oversee the planning and implementation of special events, including the New Years Eve Bash.
• Assist in the preparation of reports and data regarding programs and services.
• Maintain online registration programming (Active Net).
• Maintain Recreation, Youth, and Culture webpages on the City website using iCreate software.
• Other duties as assigned by the Recreation Program Supervisor

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Arts in Recreation and Leisure Studies or related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience coordinating birthday parties and working in the recreation program field. Experience programming within a multi-use recreation facility is an asset.
• Possess Standard First Aid & CPR Level C.
• Behaviour Management Systems Trainer certificate is an asset.
• Experience with Active Net Software is an asset.
• Possess a valid class ‘G’ Ontario driver’s license and a reliable vehicle.
• Must be available to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekend.
• A current and acceptable Criminal Record Check is required for this position at the incumbent’s expense, prior to the commencement date.

Work hours vary up to 35 hours per week. The successful candidate will be required to obtain an acceptable and current Criminal Record Check at their own expense prior to the employment commencement date.
