Program Lead, Children & Youth

CNIB invites you to build a career as unique as you! We are currently searching for a Program Lead, Children & Youth! This position will report to the Manager, Operations & Community Engagement. We are looking for a dynamic individual who has the experience, innovative-thinking and passion to help CNIB continue to break down barriers for children and youth who are blind or have low vision, providing them with access to the same quality of life and experiences as their sighted peers. Applicants will need a solid understanding of child development and how to accommodate different types of learners.
Your impact at CNIB
Deliver Children and Youth Engagement program(s) to youth who are blind or partially sighted.
Manage program expenses.
Assist with outcome evaluation processes.
Develop toolkits to support community organizations in meeting the accessibility needs of our participants.
Engage in outreach to community organizations to offer accessibility supports.
Coordinate, Develop and Deliver camps and/or youth retreats.
Support the coordination of signature events.
Who you are:
Ability to work in an inclusive environment responding with empathy and awareness to the diverse needs of the participants.
Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
Proficient technical skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Teams, and Excel).
Ability to work well in a team and take initiative when working independently.
Ability to use public transportation to chaperone participants when required.
Bilingual in French and English required.
Knowledge or experience working with people with sight loss a definite asset.
We want to hear from you if you have:
Certification in child development, education, related field, or equivalent experience.
Proven knowledge and skills in program planning and instruction.
Coaching/Leadership experience an asset.
Proven experience working with volunteers.
Personal or professional experience relating to blindness and sight loss is considered an asset.
Work Environment
Ability to travel within Atlantic Canada.
Office environment with potential for home based office.
