Contract Toronto, Ontario (home-based) CNIB invites you to build a career as unique as you! We are currently searching for a Coordinator, Venture Pool! Reporting to the Manager II Outreach, Assistive Tech and Venture Pool, the Coordinator, Venture Pool will help us launch comprehensive and meaningful programming and one to one support which will aim to change the lives of Canadians who are blind or partially sighted as they begin and grow their own businesses. Specifically, this position will be responsible for developing, executing and evaluating CNIB’s Come to Work Venture Pool program while adhering to service standards and maximizing positive experiences and outcomes for all participants.
Your impact at CNIB
- Lead the design, planning and execution of all Venture Pool programming related to business startups and growth
- Work with venture pool members on a one-to-one basis from the early stages of ideation and validation to the later stages where they are in market, growing and scaling. Focus on skills and practices needed to be successful as an entrepreneur.
- Set up and maintain the www.cnibmarket.ca website with our vendors (Shopify platform)
- Participate in CNIB conferences and events where applicable
- Lead and deliver special projects as required
- Ensure regular updates of interactions, program campaigns, etc. are captured in Salesforce
- Keep abreast of best practices and new developments in programming for people who are blind, and proactively bring forward ideas on how to improve all aspects of the work we do, including seeking opportunities to improve entrepreneur outcomes
Requirements
Who you are:
- Proven time management and organization skills; amenable to changing priorities, deadlines, and procedures
- Proven experience in group facilitation or one to one coaching
- Advanced computer skills, with proficiency in MS Office software including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Experience with e commerce (an asset)
- Proficiency/working knowledge of Salesforce an asset
- Excellent written and oral communications skills
- Customer service oriented with well-developed interpersonal skills
- Professional attitude, results oriented, self-directed, and flexible
- Demonstrates mature and sensitive nature, as well as emotional and social stability when dealing with the needs of persons experiencing sight loss and other functional challenges
- Proven knowledge of existing programs and program providers to establish/re-establish working relationships is an asset
- Must be able to work independently
- Must be able to travel independently within the region via public transit, car, or ride-share.
- Language fluency – Written and Oral – English.
- Fluency, written and oral, in French, an asset.
- Personal or professional experience relating to blindness and sight loss is considered an asset
- Personal or professional experience working with assistive technology and/or accessible environments is considered an asset
We want to hear from you if you have:
- Minimum Post-Secondary education or equivalent experience
- Six (6) months of Community/Partner/Stakeholder cultivation experience
- Six (6) months experience working alongside or directly as an entrepreneur
- Personal or professional experience relating to blindness and vision loss is considered an asset
Work Environment
- 35 hours per week
- Agile office environment.
- Willingness to work flexible hours
- Occasional travel (20%)
