Senior Advisor Payment Network Compliance

As a Senior Advisor, Payment Network Compliance at National Bank, you will need to monitor and document the regulatory changes related to payment networks, analyze any impact and make recommendations. You will ensure optimal alignment with the various internal teams and external partners in order to provide them with the necessary information and tools to evaluate and address the requirements applicable to them. You will build and follow up on the regulatory roadmap and ensure accountability. Lastly, you will act as an expert and represent senior management on projects and initiatives related to payment networks.
Join the Personal Banking Payment Solutions sector whose mission is to maintain and develop payment solutions, define the Personal Banking payment strategy and ensure that card and payment solutions comply with network and PCI requirements.
Your role:
Read, analyze and understand the regulatory requirements of various payment networks, and identify the impact on card and payment solutions
Communicate the new rules to the appropriate teams, if applicable, to obtain their feedback
Make appropriate recommendations to senior management or the payment network, if applicable
Assign the necessary activities to the appropriate teams and obtain, document and monitor the action plans of these sectors
Act as an expert for the internal teams on issues involving regulatory requirements and support them in carrying out their action plans to meet deadlines
Help prioritize the necessary technological developments in accordance with network requirements
Act as a point of contact with payment networks for any matter involving compliance and regulatory requirements
Anticipate non-compliances, ensure documentation of exemption requests, if applicable, and monitor non-compliances over time
Monitor and interpret payment indicators and regulatory performance, give recommendations and make appropriate corrections
Act as an expert for projects and initiatives that impact payment networks and network compliance
Represent the sector with various committees, internal and external stakeholders, and help negotiate agreements with various business partners in accordance with regulatory requirements
Serve as an expert with product managers and work with them to position or launch new payment solutions

Competencies required :
Bachelor’s degree in a related field plus four to six years of relevant experience OR Master’s degree plus four years of relevant experience
Experience in compliance
Diligent, detail-oriented and analytical
Excellent collaboration, stakeholder management and influencing skills
Preferred competencies:
Experience in the payment industry (Mastercard, Visa, Interac)
Knowledge of payment networks
