Contrans Tank Group Looking for Dispatcher – Logistics Coordinator at Bedford, QC Full Time

Job Purpose

Contrans, as part of TFI, the largest transportation company in North America, has an opening for the role of a dispatcher located in Bedford, QC. The Dispatcher’s role is to properly manage our fleet and our drivers and ensure they have all the necessary information and tools to perform their job duties. Specific Duties

· Schedule and dispatch drivers and equipment to appropriate locations or tank washes according to our customer requests, specifications, or needs

· Ensure all drivers and owner operators are fully utilized and monitor their progress throughout the month to ensure Contrans Tank is meeting up to the driver and owner operator expectations

· Enter orders into our TMS and confirm that proper information accompanies the order based on customer requirements

· Work closely with customer service to address customer questions or concerns in order to provide the service and satisfaction our customers require

· Receive driver’s paperwork and be sure it gets to the customer service/billing department in a timely manner

· Communicate effectively with drivers, co-workers, and customers and adhere to the company’s communication policy

· Handle after hour calls as they relate to drivers and customer’s needs

· Other duties as required

Education/Experience

· Post-secondary education in business or logistics

· Bilingual English/French is a must

· TMS experience/AS400 system or equivalent is a benefit

· Intermediate experience in Microsoft Word and Excel

· 2-5 years dispatching is a benefit

· Understanding of basic transportation regulation both in U.S. and Canada i.e. weight restrictions, hours of service.

Job Specific Skills: Understanding of hours-of-service regulations for both Canada/U.S., weight restrictions of various equipment i.e. tandem, tridem, quad, customs knowledge, setting up drivers dispatch for success to ensure they have the time to pick up and/or deliver, understanding of maintenance terms B620, annuals, 60-day.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $50,000.00-$68,262.00 per year
