Reporting to the Manager, HR Client Partnerships (HRCP), the HRCP Advisor is responsible for advising, coaching, and supporting management personnel in the management of human resources and related operations, including but not limited to: employee and labour relations issues, interpretation of various employment/legal documentation, creation and delivery of training/development material, and supporting classification/compensation, recruitment/selection, attendance support, and return to work matters, including Duty to Accommodate HRCP Advisors provide research and support for special projects undertaken by the Human Resources Department, participates in reviewing and setting policy, and fosters and maintains positive public relations through relationships with internal and external contacts. Please note: Travel is required and may include the use of a personal vehicle. A standard driver’s abstract may also be required for use of corporate lease vehicles. This position is non-unionized.
Required Qualifications:
Knowledge of collective agreements, and related legislation. Understanding and commitment to Covenant Mission, Vision and Values. Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, Outlook and internet software applications. Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication, and listening skills. Ability to communicate effectively in a co-operative, respectful, and sensitive manner with individuals from diverse backgrounds, including all levels of the organization. Strong conflict resolution, negotiation, and group facilitation skills. Demonstrated ability to handle concerns and investigations while maintaining discretion, diplomacy, and tact. Must be able to work independently, exercise sound judgement, and be extremely flexible in managing variable and unpredictable situations with strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Strong commitment to participation within a collaborative team environment. Demonstrated excellence in customer service and commitment to quality health care. Working understanding of ethics and commitment to Covenant’s ethical framework. Must be prepared to travel to and work between Covenant sites, and within the Region. Must have ability to travel between sites.

Preferred Qualifications:
Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation along with membership with Human Resources Institute of Alberta preferred. Ability to maintain composure under constant pressure and stress while maintaining a high level of involvement in confrontational situations while facing tight deadlines. Ability to handle highly confidential/sensitive issues, and emotional circumstances tactfully and diplomatically. Ability to diplomatically handle numerous interruptions.
