The Recruitment Specialist supports operational leaders in the recruitment of great candidates to the organization. Responsibilities include screening resumes, conducting interviews, conducting reference checks, and recommending candidates for hire. The Specialist consults with managers to find appropriate recruitment strategies for difficult to recruit positions, and identifies candidate leads through various sources, including student engagement and career events. The Recruitment Specialist participates in the development of interview questions, reference check questions, and related templates, as well as development and implementation of training resources for managers. The Specialist consults with various Human Resources teams, as needed, regarding processes, collective agreement and policy interpretation and selection decisions and outcomes. This position is non-unionized.
Required Qualifications:
Completion of a recognized Human Resources Diploma program required. (Equivalent education and/or experience may be considered) Registered Professional Recruiter (RPR) required. Minimum two to three years recruitment experience in a large organization with high-volume recruitment. Experience with recruitment management systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and online survey systems. Experience in the development of best practice recruitment templates and tools, and the delivery of education sessions to clients.

Demonstrated excellence in customer service and continuous process improvement. Ability to prioritize workload, and monitor the details and quality of work, ensuring accuracy of information. Strong organizational and time management skills required. Knowledge of collective agreements and related legislation (e.g., Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act). Must be able to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment, exercise sound judgement, and be extremely flexible in managing multiple interruptions. Must be able to communicate effectively; written and verbal in a co-operative, respectful, and sensitive manner with a high level of professionalism. • Demonstrated ability to handle issues and concerns while maintaining discretion, diplomacy and tact. • Excellent detailed analytical and problem-solving skills. • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, with various levels of stakeholders from across the organization.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field is preferred. Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation an asset. Experience working in a unionized health care setting preferred. Experience using Taleo, PeopleSoft, and RedCap preferred.
