Dare Foods Limited Looking for Intermediate Accountant at Cambridge, Ontario, Canada Full Time

Dare Foods Limited is a private, family owned portfolio of brands established in 1892. The Dare “Made Better” promise guides everything we do and comes to life through our portfolio of consumer-loved brands including Bear Paws, Breton, REALFRUIT, Boulangerie Grissol, and Whippet (to name just a few). Our head office is in Cambridge Ontario. We have been located in the Kitchener area since the family’s original store opened in 1892.

We are looking for an Intermediate Accountant – Cambridge, Ontario.

Working within a hybrid team environment, you possess excellent communication skills, attention to detail and a dedication to excellence. You will be responsible to perform a variety of financial accounting duties, compiling, analyzing and preparing accurate and timely periodic/annual consolidated financial statements and administrating and updating system databases. The successful candidate will also be involved in the preparation of the annual budget, budget updates and year end closing processes. Experience within an SAP environment would be considered a definite asset.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements and reports for management review.
• Maintain and update databases, capital expenditures and Vena.
• Perform month-end and year-end close processes.
• Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
• Maintain general ledger accounts by reconciling accounts receivable detail and control accounts.
• Prepare and maintain fixed asset records.
• Assist with budget preparation and forecasting.
• Prepare and file various tax returns, such as sales tax, income tax, and property tax.
• Assist with internal and external audits.
• Analyze financial information to recommend or develop efficient use of resources and procedures, provide strategic recommendations, and maintain solutions to business and financial problems.
• Develop, maintain, and analyze budgets, preparing periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs.
• Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations to project future revenues and expenses or to provide advice.

Requirements:

• Business or other relevant University Degree or College Diploma.
• Minimum 2 years of accounting /finance experience.
• Exceptional organizational and analytical skills.
• Strong Excel skills and working knowledge of SAP, Vena, and/or Cognos preferred.
