One of our manufacturing clients in Guelph, ON region is looking for a Sr. Process Engineer for their facility.
Shift: Days
Responsibilities
- Examine designated procedures to identify the fundamental causes of existing and potential defects; employ remedies through various available approaches.
- Assess designated procedures to formulate enhancements for safety, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery.
- Record the current process using standard, measurable data.
- Assess the efficacy of the permanent solution using the same set of data.
- Collaborate with operators, supervisors, and managers to execute solutions.
- Ensure that the production team comprehensively grasps the solutions, enabling them to sustain the improvements and implement further gradual adjustments.
- Develop jigs and fixtures for the assembly and welding departments.
- Compile comprehensive work instructions for operators.
- Manage contracts and coordinate with suppliers for various assembly and process improvement equipment.
- Provide cost justifications for both capital and process improvements.
Qualifications
- Proficient in lean manufacturing principles, quality systems, metal forming, welding, and the interpretation of blueprints, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GDT).
- Possess a diploma in Engineering Technology or a related post-secondary program.
- Have accumulated over 7 years of experience in a comparable role.
- Essential expertise in welding processes.
- Previous experience in the automotive industry is advantageous.
