Known as “The Abnormal Beauty Company”, DECIEM is the parent company of The Ordinary, NIOD, and other beauty brands & is an industry disruptor with a science first approach to innovation. DECIEM was Co-Founded in 2013 by the late Brandon Truaxe, a visionary who set out to change the beauty industry through authenticity and transparency. He developed DECIEM to be a happy family (of people and beauty brands), rooted in kindness, creativity, diversity, and respect, alongside Co-Founder and CEO, Nicola Kilner.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We’re looking for a Director, Learning & Development to lead the development and execution of the company learning strategy, supporting DECIEM’s People, Culture and Talent goals.

This is a hybrid role based out of our Toronto office.

WHAT YOU’D BE DOING IN THIS ROLE

• Ensure L&D strategy and objectives are in service of overall employee goals and initiatives such as onboarding, management training, career pathing, development goals, internal mobility, talent planning and more
• Engage leaders across the business to assess their specific learning needs, and enables them to engage their teams in learning and development programs and courses
• Contribute to the development of the L&D evaluation strategy, establishing key measures, data collection and building insightful reports and analyses for leadership to demonstrate clear value and return on investment for learning activities
• Leverage data and key insights driven from listening platforms (Annual deep dive, pulse surveys, listening sessions, ERGs etc.) to guide L&D strategy and action plans. Adjust, deliver, and clearly articulate the L&D vision as the organization evolves
• Serve as a strong partner and collaborator to develop the best delivery approach to provide effective and engaging learning experiences across all functions and regions
• Actively partner and support training to facilitate organizational changes as an integral part of change management
• Lead user design, integration, and reporting of engagement with Company communications, policies, resources and learning programming on our Learning Experience Platform (Thrive)
• Engage, inspire and influence the organization with impactful campaigns, content, user experience, and L&D programming

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED TO GET THE JOB DONE

• Proven experience in delivering global learning and/or leadership development solutions across platforms and mediums, to a variety of employee types; ideally including Office/Professional (a must), Retail and/or Production employees
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the field of learning and development, training, program design and administration of learning programs
• A keen eye and ability to identify, evaluate, and capitalize on business opportunities for today and tomorrow, maximizing top line and bottom-line impacts
• Exceptional skills to set clear objectives and inspire yourself and others to reach their full capability and maximize their capacity
• Excellent leadership qualities to design a strategy that motivates the team and fuels business growth
• A proactive and entrepreneurial approach executing job responsibilities, prioritizing urgent and important work
• 5+ years of people management and/or leadership experience is required
