Position Summary

Established in 2000, Eagle Builders is a family owned and operated construction company, located in Blackfalds Alberta. We are leaders in precast concrete and proudly serve all over Western Canada. We manufacture precast for industrial, commercial, agricultural, and civil infrastructure and have built an outstanding name in the construction industry. Our dedicated team has grown to 500+ full-time employees.

We are a growing organization looking for an experienced Human Resources Administrator Coordinator to join our fast-paced and energetic team! This is a 12-month contract to cover a maternity leave until November 2023 with the possibility of extension or becoming permanent.

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, organized, people-oriented, and eager to take on new challenges within the department. Must display a strong decision making and problem-solving aptitude with outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. You will assist in a variety of daily HR functions with the ability to multitask and adapt in a demanding, fast-paced environment.

Job Description

• Maintain organized and up to date employee records in our HR database and ensure all employment requirements are met
• Assist with employee evaluations and performance management procedures
• Perform orientations and complete new hire paperwork
• Assist with recruitment processes, such as job descriptions, screening applicants, interviews, reference checks, etc.
• Assist with reporting and general updates of HR activity
• Respond to internal and external HR related inquires and provide assistance as needed
• Ensure all departments receive proper information on new hires to process payroll, benefits, etc.
• Keep up to date with the latest HR trends and best practices
• Attend career fairs or other events

Assets

• Knowledge and previous experience in the construction industry
• Experience with BambooHR or similar HRIS system
• Familiar with LMIA process and Temporary Foreign Worker programs
• Degree or Diploma in Human Resources or related field

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years experience as an HR administrator or similar position
• Exposure and in-depth knowledge of Employment Standards
• Effective HR administration and people management skills
• Understanding of basic payroll practices
• Working hours are typically Monday to Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm
• Must be flexible to work overtime and the occasional Saturday as needed
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Works well under pressure and meets tight deadlines
• Strong computer capabilities and ability to grasp new programs
• Must be able to perform in a confidential manner
• Demonstrates a high degree of professionalism
• A valid driver’s license with reliable transportation
• Local or wiling to relocate to Central Alberta
• Must be eligible to work in Canada
