Eagle Builders has an exciting opportunity for a Human Resources Coordinator with a focus on Talent Development to join our dynamic HR team in Blackfalds.
Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, you will provide support and solutions-based thinking to contribute to and enhance a superior workforce with a focus on growing the company’s talent and improving efficiencies. The ideal candidate will have a broad knowledge of Human Resources with a strong emphasis on recruitment, onboarding, and retention. Must display strong decision-making and problem-solving aptitude with outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. You will assist in a variety of daily HR functions with the ability to multitask, adapt and provide solutions in a demanding fast-paced environment. Job Descriptions
Perform full-cycle recruitment including pro-actively identifying company needs, creating job descriptions, posting ads, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, reference checking, drafting written offer letters, and onboarding.
Maintain organized and up-to-date records in our HR/ATS database and ensure all employment requirements are met.
Support and improve connections with high schools and post-secondary institutions.
Build and enhance relationships with outside programs such as RAP, Internship Programs, Trades, Employment Agencies, etc.
Assist with LMIA applications and managing Temporary Foreign Workers.
Assist with employee evaluations, performance management, and leadership programs.
Assist with reporting and general updates of HR activities and day-to-day operational needs.
Promptly respond to internal or external HR-related inquiries and provide solutions as needed.
Conduct exit interviews, collect data and implement strategies to continually strengthen retention.
Administer employee disciplinary processes and procedures as needed.
Keep up to date with the latest HR trends and best practices.
Register and attend career fairs and similar events to attract diverse talent.
Assets
Previous experience in the construction industry
Familiar with construction terminology and the different positions
An understanding and previous experience administering personality and behavior assessments (Predictive Index & Colors)
Comfortable working within an HRIS and/or ATS system (BambooHR)
Experience with various recruitment platforms and hiring initiatives
Previous involvement with developing, drafting, and implementing new policies and procedures
Familiar with LMIA process from start to finish and Temporary Foreign Worker programs
Degree or diploma in Human Resources
Requirements
Minimum 3-5 years of HR experience in a coordinator or leadership role
Proven experience and a strong background with full-cycle recruitment
Exposure and in-depth knowledge of Employment Standards, Human Rights Act, and PIPA
Effective HR administration and people management skills
Familiar with LMIA process and Temporary Foreign Worker programs
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Works well under pressure and meets tight deadlines
Strong computer capabilities and ability to grasp new programs
Must be able to perform in a confidential capacity
Demonstrates a high degree of professionalism
A valid driver’s license with reliable transportation
Local or willing to relocate to central Alberta
Must be eligible to work in Canada
