Eaton Corporation has an immediate opening for a Software Quality Assurance (SQA) Manager in Brossard, Quebec, reporting to the SQA Senior Manager.

What you’ll do:
The primary function of the SQA Engineering Manager is to establish a software quality assurance system and team that promotes customer satisfaction and positively affects the financial performance for the Energy Automation Solutions (EAS). Responsibilities include ensuring the quality, stability and robustness for the EAS solutions portfolio.
The successful candidate will have deep technical knowledge of software development and testing and must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. The position requires a hands-on Software QA manager with proven leadership, management, and team-building skills while developing and fostering partnerships with cross-functional teams.
Job Responsibilities and Competencies:
• Lead Enterprise and Embedded Software Quality Teams: Drive the strategic and operational direction of multiple geographically diverse teams, ensuring alignment with our Agile, proactive quality, and test automation principles.
• Team Building: Build, mentor, and lead Software Quality professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence in quality assurance practices.
• Expertise in QA Methodologies: Deep understanding of quality assurance methodologies, including automated testing and the ‘shift-left’ approach.
• Continuous Improvement: Regularly assess and improve Software Quality processes, tools, and methodologies to drive better quality outcomes and align with industry best practices.
• Develop and Implement Automated Testing Frameworks: Oversee the development and implementation of comprehensive automated testing frameworks to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in identifying and addressing defects early in the development process
• Integrate Quality Assurance Practices: Work closely with development, product, and operations teams to champion the integration of quality assurance early and consistently throughout the software development lifecycle, promoting a ‘shift-left’ testing approach.
• Agile: Support product development utilizing the Scrum principles of commitment, focus, openness, respect, and courage.
• Relationships: Build and manage key relationships, interpret information from multiple sources, and communicate effectively to various audiences.
• Adaptability: Adapt to changes, gain followship, and quickly respond to adjusting priorities based on evolving business needs.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications (Must have):
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / Engineering from an accredited institution
• 5+ years experience in SQA with demonstrated results in software testing disciplines, including, black box, white box, end-to-end system, and integration.
• Demonstrated ability to develop automated test platforms; working with development teams to advocate for automated testable software architecture.
• 5+ years of people management with a proven record of accomplishment in building and growing strong teams with more than five members.
• 5+ years of experience delivering high-quality software products and services for external end users.
• Experience developing and/or testing in an Agile software environment.
• Professional fluency in French and English. English is required for this position in order to communicate with colleagues located inside and outside of Quebec and provide leadership across global teams.
• Must be legally authorized to work in Canada without corporate sponsorship.
• No relocation is being provided. Candidates must reside within 80km of Brossard office.
• Ability to travel up to 25%.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to have):
• Master’s degree .
• Studies of Software Quality Assurance or certifications in software testing
• Experience on tests automation tools for Desktop, Web applications or Web services (e.g. Selenium, Test Complete, SOAPUI, Postman)
• Experience working in the electric utility market and/or power system knowledge.
• Experience with Agile Development Processes, and working in an agile team environment, using SCRUM or any other framework
• Experience setting up, configuring, and managing a large lab of hardware devices for use in system testing.
• 10+ years of experience shipping high-quality software products and services.
• 8+ years experience in SQA.
• Experience in performance/stress testing.
• Experience deploying multiple OS, browser, and database versions using VMs.
