We are looking for a Manager of People Operations & Culture with outstanding written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills. You will have excellent administrative skills with the ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
We are looking for someone who wants to learn the business and grow with it. EmpowHERto is a Toronto-based non-profit organization founded in 2015, dedicated to helping young women and girls reach their fullest potential through its three pillars: Independence, Leadership, and Confidence.
To ensure success, the Head of People Operations & Culture should display strong problem solving and decision-making skills with a deep understanding of employee relationships, staffing management and volunteer engagement.
Responsibilities:
· Collaborates with senior leadership to understand the organization’s goals and strategy related to recruitment and retention.
· Lead a team of People Operations Specialists with recruiting and onboarding, from identifying and addressing talent requirements to the onboarding of new hires, always looking to further improve the journey from candidate to volunteer
· Build organizational culture focusing on the core people-related policies, programs and practices to better support the organization in achieving future goals
· Point of contact for all volunteers, supporting with any concerns or queries they have, working with their manager to come to an appropriate resolution
· Responds to all internal and external HR related inquiries or requests.
· Assists with performance management procedures and advises on performance related issues.
· Produces and submits reports on general HR team activity.
· Keeps up-to-date with the latest HR trends and best practices.
· Leads and guides a team of HR professionals to support the organization’s human resources compliance and strategy needs.
· Other tasks and projects as assigned.
Requirements:
· Professional designation in Human Resources, and at least 3 – 5 years of experience in Human Resources is mandatory.
· Exposure to Labor Law and employment equity regulations.
· Effective HR administration and people management skills.
· Full understanding of HR functions and best practices.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Works well under pressure and meets tight deadlines.
· Highly computer literate with capability in email, MS Office, Google suites and related business and communication tools.
· Fantastic organizational and time management skills.
· Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
· Non-profit experience is an asset
