Enchant Christmas Looking for Regional Director of Finance (Remote) at Vancouver, BC Full Time

Your mission if you choose to accept it…

Is to join a finance team as an RDOF with an accounting background, preferably in the entertainment industry who is organized and can communicate effectively. You will need to handle the record keeping for multiple Events at once. You can understand and monitor budget vs actual spending, ticket reporting, expense reporting and payroll. The RDOF will be an integral part of the entire accounting process throughout the year.

We are creators of a magical event called Enchant Christmas. We have hosted over three million guests over the past 5 years and have experienced significant growth. While Christmas is a big part of what we do, it is only the beginning of where we intend to go.

WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR: *

• Work with department heads and general managers to prepare budgets for the event season.
• Track all spending for each city and review the budget to actual results in each department and city.
• Ensure all back up for spending is recorded in GL.
• Review seasonal payroll prior to submission for accuracy.
• Research and review any State sales tax for proper rates.
• File state sales tax returns and any annual reports.
• Prepare weekly Enchant Ticket Reports for reconciliation with a third party ticketing group.
• Prepare weekly event reconciliation settlement sheets for venue partners and liaise with the venue partners on all reporting and settlement matters.
• Prepare invoices for sponsorships. private parties, group ticket sales.
• Prepare and upload JE for payments received for sponsorships, private parties and group ticket sales.
• Assist department heads or city general manager with any information requests.
• Assist Controller in other projects as assigned.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM:

• B.S. in Accounting or Finance from a four year university or equivalent degree or experience.
• 5+ years of experience in the accounting field.
• An extensive knowledge of accounting including GL accounts, journal entries, expense recording, budgets and forecasts.
• An understanding of budgets and how to monitor expenditures.
• A hands-on, diverse approach to problem solving.
• Self-directed, extremely meticulous and organized with an ability to manage a high level of multiple projects, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Excellent math skills and a high aptitude for figures.
• Entertainment industry knowledge is a plus.
• Netsuite knowledge is a plus.
• Highly organized and strong communication skills (verbal and written).
• Understanding of budget adherence.
• Extensive knowledge of spreadsheet and word processing software.
• Google suite knowledge is a plus.
• A sincere desire to help create magical memories.
