Enchant Looking for Staff Accountant at British Columbia, Canada Full Time

Your enthusiasm and knowledge will blend with our staff both at headquarters and in the field to ensure all departments are able to function without running into financial roadblocks. This will allow them to concentrate on creating magical experiences for our guests.

WHO WE ARE:

We are creators of a magical holiday event called Enchant Christmas featuring the world’s largest light maze and village market. We have hosted over three million guests over the past 7 years and have experienced significant growth. In 2024, we will be producing 9 shows in 7 U.S. cities.

WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR:

• Prepare list of payables for weekly and off-cycle payment runs.
• Verify receipts, coding, and weekly reconciliation of all corporate credit cards.
• Match cash disbursements in bank feed to the A/P ledger.
• Provide support with posting vendor invoices to NetSuite as needed.
• Work with the Sales team to ensure timely collection on A/R aging reports.
• Provide support with invoicing sales orders in NetSuite as needed.
• Prepare monthly cash reconciliations for all bank accounts.
• Prepare month-end reconciliations for prepaids and accrual accounts.
• Make edits to the GL after review by the Controller or Accounting Manager.
• Prepare quarterly GST returns.
• Assist Department Heads, Regional Directors of Finance and Company Managers with any information requests.
• Assist Accounting Manager in other projects as assigned.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM:

• BCom in Accounting from a four-year university or equivalent degree or experience.
• 3-4 years of experience in the accounting field.
• An extensive knowledge of accounting including GL accounts, journal entries, and expense recording.
• A hands-on, diverse approach to problem solving.
• Self-directed, meticulous, and organized with an ability to manage and prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Entertainment industry knowledge is a plus.
• NetSuite knowledge is a plus.
• BC Canadian Payroll Laws a MUST
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
• Intermediate knowledge of Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, sumifs)
• Google Workspace knowledge is a plus.
• A sincere desire to help create magical memories.
