We are a Montreal-based startup that is developing estate and trust administration solutions for the North American estates market. Our mission is to dramatically accelerate estate settlement times while ensuring strict regulatory compliance with the estate laws and procedures of each jurisdiction in which we operate.
The Role:
As a Manager of Finance & Administration, you will report to the COO and take on day-to-day responsibilities to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of financial statements and reporting. The Manager of Finance & Administration will perform, track, and evaluate day-to-day activities in the administrative department, providing support and orientation to other areas as needed.
What you’ll do:
Each day will bring upon something new and exciting, but some areas to focus on will be:
Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting/finance department.
Record all business transactions, process accruals and adjustments, balance sheet reconciliations and the preparation/analysis of monthly accounting statements.
Provide administrative support and financial expertise to all departments.
Assist with creating and updating internal controls, policies, and procedures.
Prepare tax reports, providing all supporting documents.
Assist with Human Resources activities.
Your Profile:
You’re a problem solver with strong analytical and organization skills. You possess an entrepreneurial mindset and are able to think big, but also take that vision and drive bite-sized improvements. You have a strong bias towards action and possess a can-do attitude. You are a team player who can work independently and form unique thoughts on topics and are not afraid to debate them to ensure optimal outcomes for the business and customers.
What you need to bring to the position:
Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or equivalent.
Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal.
Ability to deal with confidential issues in a professional manner.
Excellent attention to detail.
Ability to organize and prioritize work efficiently.
Thoroughness, autonomy, and teamwork.
Strong analytical skills.
A minimum of 3 years’ experience in Finance and Administrative areas.
Bilingual (French and English), a plus!
