Maintenance Technician / Painter (Full-Time)
Located in the heart of Canada’s capital next door to the Parliament Buildings, the landmark Fairmont Chateau Laurier hotel in Ottawa is looking to fill a role of Maintenance Technician / Painter.

Full rate of pay of $32.10/hour
Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Director, Engineering, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
-
Responsible for various repairs and preventative maintenance in guest bedrooms, public spaces and heart of the house areas
-
Will carry out daily work assignments in a productive and efficient manner
-
Must be detail oriented
-
Perform repairs to surfaces such as plaster, drywall, wood trims, etc…
-
Verification of bathroom fixtures. Repair and caulk as required
-
Verification of guest room hardware. Repair as required
-
Verify that everything in the guestrooms is in good operating condition, and report any major deficiencies to the Engineering Department for action taking
-
Minor repairs, touch ups to furniture and minor paint touch ups
-
Assist other trades as required
-
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
-
Previous experience required
-
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the trade
-
Must have basic knowledge and experience in general maintenance, more specifically in the areas of plumbing, electrical, mechanical and carpentry
Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):
-
Constant standing and walking throughout shift
-
Squatting, bending, climbing and other full range of motion activities
-
Lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds
