I am looking for a manager of management accounting for my client, a manufacturing group. This is a permanent post in hybrid mode.
Responsibilities
Responsible for the processes around cost accounting and inventory controls of 5 manufacturing and distribution operations in Canada.
Define central inventory management policies and practices, ensuring of the right level of controls for physical safeguards, valuation, costs flow and provisions mechanisms.
Ensure cost variance are properly identified, explained and accounted for under a common approach across all MPG operations.
Determines and implements cost accounting procedures and methods to optimize cost allocation and standard setting processes at each location to ensure valuable cost data are available in a timely and efficient manner.
Provide valuable, directional cost and profitability data to management for use in strategic reviews and investment decisions.
Leading a transition from independent Actual cost structures for 5 different operations to a standardized, standard costing system in the common ERP
Become an active participant in the implementations of a common ERP at the various operations of MPG Canada to ensure accounting processes are robust and effective
Responsible for the preparation and analysis of cost reports and costing audits.
Examines and reviews unusual cost records and ensures cost data is allocated correctly.
Duties Include
* Collecting and analyzing data about a company’s operational costs
* Setting standard costs of manufactured goods
* Developing and analyzing cost standards
* Carrying out cost-volume-profit (CVP) analysis
* Establishing costs of business processes such as administration, labor, shipping, etc.
* Performing account reconciliations
* Preparing audit reports and presenting their findings to management
* Recommending changes to the company’s processes and policies to reduce cost and maximize profit
* Advising executives and upper management on appropriate costing based on financial data
* Supporting other company processes such as capital expenditure for growth projects
Required profile
– Recognized accounting qualification (CPA or equivalent experience);
– Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in management accounting, in a manufacturing environment
