Reporting to the Director of Strategic Opportunities, the Strategist advises the Director on continuous improvement, problem-solving, strategic planning, evidence-based solutions, and planning and implementing change.
Accountabilities
Advises the Director on continuous improvement, problem-solving support, strategic planning, and evidence-based solutions;
Engages closely with the Director and Strategic Opportunities team in planning and implementing change;
Conducts research and develops business plans to support new activities and pilot projects;
Drives project delivery, generating critical insights and tailoring and delivering effective communications to drive change, through the proactive solicitation and use of information, judgment, problem-solving methodologies, and sector knowledge;
Conducts risk management planning, scenario analyses, target market research, competitive environment scans, and client satisfaction research;
Proactively pursues sources of data and insight needed to complete analysis and ensure pace of progress and quality of analysis are maintained in line with the expectations of the Director and project sponsor;
Works with internal and external stakeholders to identify and assist with the implementation of leading practice delivery methods, may include training team members or other employees as required;
Ensures relevant research is conducted on internal control and change management methodologies, tools, processes, and resources.
Qualifications
University Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or a relevant discipline;
Five (5) years of progressive experience in business improvement, strategy analytics or a related field with proven experience with supporting a senior executive;
Experienced or certified Project Manager an asset;
Experienced team leader with the ability to provide ongoing mentorship and training;
Advanced computer skills including proficiency with MS Office and databases;
Experience in change management and implementation within a project environment considered an asset;
Experience with SharePoint and databases an asset;
Demonstrated experience continuously improving processes, workflows, and performance visualizations to enhance client outcomes.
Must have an understanding, awareness and appreciation of Indigenous culture and history;
Must be fluent in English (spoken and written); Fluency in French an asset;
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
