Fleming College, Toronto Programs is a public college-private partnership between Fleming College Canada (FC) and (Trebas), with academic delivery and student support services managed by Trebas.

FCT is currently seeking a Student Engagement Officer who is passionate about engaging and supporting international students. The candidate will be part of the Student Services Department and will meaningfully contribute to ensuring students have a positive and memorable experience at the College. Reporting to the Student Engagement Team Lead, the candidate should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a pro-active mindset, and posses detail-orientated planning abilities to execute student-focused events and activities.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the planning, coordinating, promoting, and execution of student events, trips, and activities both on/off campus and virtual.
• Use an international lens to positively engage students and cultivate memorable student experiences, with a focus on diversity, and inclusion.
• Quickly gain a thorough understanding of the FCT student journey, from pre-enrolment to graduation, and various departments, policies, and processes to provide students real-time answers to their questions, and where necessary, re-direct enquiries to the appropriate stakeholders.
• In collaboration with the Student Services team, communicate and engage with students regarding important updates across the student experience and journey.
• Communicate with vendors, external organizations, and companies regarding events and trips while maintaining positive and professional working relationships with partners.
• Gather and compile student feedback and data, including statistics and trends relating to student events and activities.
• Handle large volume of student communication in an efficient and professional manner.
• Maintain and update student files and records as necessary while following-up on incomplete documents. Assist in the interim reviews of the student files.
• Deliver outstanding hands-on student service with an emphasis on student engagement and client satisfaction.
• Support day-to-day operations of the Student Services Department as needed.

Required Experience

• Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline required.
• Minimum 1 year of event planning, or relevant experience.
• Experience working with international students and/or new immigrants will be considered a valuable asset.
• Experience working in a post-secondary, higher education atmosphere will be considered a valuable asset.

• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
