Job description
Forterra is a leading manufacturer of concrete pipe and products in the U.S. and Eastern Canada for a variety of water-related infrastructure applications, including water transmission, distribution and drainage. Overview
· The plant Clerk position at the Ottawa plant is divided into 2 roles.
· 1- Plant Admin role (60%): The plant Admin role involves carrying out a variety of clerical duties and provide administrative support. Main duties include managing PO’s, act as the point of contact for all employees and vendors, and keep company records organized.
· 2- Backup Dispatcher (40%): Takes orders from customers, process the orders, coordinate the shipping with the trucking company and coordinate the loading of the trucks with the forklift operators
Job Responsibilities
1-Plant Admin responsibilities (60%):
· Create PO’s for all the plant purchases and do the Oracle receipts for all plant purchases
· Create Sales Orders for each new individual project
· Pick –up customer cheques and deposit them into a bank account
· Provide monthly accruals
· Point of contact for all employees
· Provide general administrative and clerical support including scanning, faxing and copying to management
· maintain electronic and hard copy filing system
· answer calls from vendors regarding their inquiries
· Stock taking and reordering office supplies whenever necessary

2-Backup Dispatcher responsibilities (40%):
· Receive incoming calls from customers, processing orders
· Schedule and dispatch fleet for conveyance of materials
· Handles bills of lading
· Coordinates internally with the shipping department (Forklift operators) for pick up and loading of trucks
· Follow up with Customers on trucks and pick up times of product
· Review invoicing and ensure accurate pricing in Oracle and reconcile freight bills received
· Verify mileage with shipping department
· Record new mileages in Oracle
Qualifications
· Secondary (high) school graduation
· Minimum of 1 year of work experience needed
· The candidate need to be customer service oriented, organized, have good communication and computer skills, be able to work under pressure and be able to interact professionally, both verbally and in writing, with colleagues and customers
· The candidate need to work at a desk with a computer

Salary: $50,000.00-$54,000.00 per year
