PAYROLL & ACCOUNTING COORDINATOR

Pertinent Information: Full-time, steady day position outside of the manufacturing sector. Monday through Friday – 8:00 am – 4:30 pm. Centrally located and accessible via bus. Full details to be provided at time of interview.

Wage: $50,000 – $60,000/year. Company pension and comprehensive benefits package included.

Location: Windsor, ON.

Job Description

Reporting directly to the Controller, the Payroll & Accounting Coordinator is responsible forproviding hands-on expertise to the daily management of accounting and payroll functions.

Resposibilities to include the following but not limited to:

• Processing full cycle payroll – ensuring employees are paid accurately through detailed, error-free time management records.
• Maintaining accurate employee status data and detailed records on employee paid time-off. Ensuring compliance to relevant legislation on all records.
• Group benefits/Pension Plan administration – maintaining plan member data. Receiving, reviewing and processing payment of monthly invoices. Processing employee life cycle adjustments.
• Providing detailed, accurate and timely accounting, bookkeeping and clerical support to the finance department
• Updating, verifying and maintaining accounting journals and ledgers, reporting anomalies in a timely manner.
• Sorting and entering invoices, verifying data and maintaining vendor files.
• Preparing bank deposits and general ledger postings.
• Tracking and maintaining detailed records for expenses and petty cash transactions.
• Assisting external accounting firm in the reconciliations of accounts for year-end accounting processes.
• Actively participating in financial audits as requested.
• Remittances and reporting to government and other agencies are done accurately and on schedule.

Qualifications

• Degree and/or Diploma in Accounting
• Must have full cycle Payroll experience
• Must have at least two (2) years proven professional experience in an accounting/bookkeeping role require
• Ceridian Dayforce experience is required
• Experience in the administration of benefits and compensation programsKnowledge of basic accounting principles
• Working experience with Sage 50 and other accounting/bookkeeping software
