About Us
Intergovernmental Affairs (IGA) is responsible for coordinating and advancing the province’s interests with the Government of Canada, other provinces, and foreign governments at the national and sub-national levels. We serve as a central point of contact for the coordination of the province’s intergovernmental priorities and protocol requirements, support to the Ministers responsible for Military Relations, Trade and the operation of Government House.
About Our Opportunity
As an Executive Secretary, you will be accountable for providing a full range of administrative, planning and event support services to the Executive Director, Directors, and other senior staff members.
You will work in a highly collaborative and energetic environment carrying out the day-to-day administrative functions with minimal direction. Working in a fast paced, continuously evolving environment you are highly adaptable.

This position reports to the Executive Director of Canadian Intergovernmental Relations and Corporate Services.

Qualifications And Experience
This may be the right opportunity for you if you have successfully completed an office administration program with 4 years of related experience. An undergraduate degree would be considered as asset, as would previous experience working for the provincial government, and in intergovernmental relations. An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered.
As the ideal candidate you have exceptional communication (written and verbal) and relationship building skills to work with various stakeholders both internal and external to government. You exercise initiative to respond quickly to the many changing needs of the Department and to also ensure numerous activities are carried out within established timelines. Records management experience would be considered an asset.
You are comfortable working independently and with minimal supervision, demonstrating sound judgement and discretion. This position requires a high degree of diplomacy, tact and leadership; many issues are of a confidential nature.

Must be able to work calmly and effectively under stress as there is frequently pressure to ensure deadlines are met and client requests are responded to promptly.
What We Offer
Pay Grade: EC 05
Salary Range: $1,874.72 – $2,343.39 Bi-Weekly
