The Prince Albert Prosecution’s Office is seeking a highly motivated, efficient, well organized and confident individual who is capable of working in a fast-paced and demanding work environment for a One (1) Year term. Your responsibilities will include the hiring, training and supervision of support staff with support from the Director of Administrative Operations. You will provide guidance to staff regarding a wide variety of complex secretarial and administrative duties with respect to legal documentation and court processes. You will be in daily contact with the public, lawyers, police, media and community agencies and answer inquiries while dealing with highly sensitive and explicit material.
You will be required to summarize, research and prepare court files which includes using the information transfer/tracking program EPIC (Electronic Prosecutions Information Center) and CJIMS (Justice Automated Integrated Network System).
You must have advanced knowledge of office administrative procedures including filing systems and knowledge of legal terminology, the administration of legal documents and the various levels of court as it relates to criminal law. You must have office management experience and well developed supervisory skills. As the successful candidate you must participate as a willing and able team member within the office environment. Your knowledge, experience and demonstrated abilities will be key to your success in this position. You must have previous supervisory experience in a related field.
Typically, you will have developed your knowledge and skills through the completion of a two year legal secretarial course or have significant experience in a related legal field or a combination of both legal secretarial education and experience.
