Opportunity
MacEwan University invites applicants to apply for a full-time continuing Student Recruitment and Applications Coordinator opportunity with our School of Continuing Education (SCE). The Student Recruitment and Applications Coordinator is responsible for determining student admissibility to SCE credit and non-credit programs as outlined in the University’s practices and procedures as well as planning and organizing student recruitment and retention efforts.
This position will be responsible for both maintaining currency relating to academic requirements, student records and policies as well as collaborating with university stakeholders and community partners to actively promote prospective student engagement to support enrollment management strategies and outcomes.

Excellent interpersonal skills including tact and diplomacy in order to work with a variety of people from different backgrounds; must be able to interact professionally with internal and external client groups
Excellent communication and public speaking skills
An interest in working with students
The ability to perform intermediate-level tasks using a student information system
The ability to perform complex tasks using Microsoft suite programs
The ability to organize time and priorities with limited supervision
Critical thinking, conflict resolution & collaborative decision-making skills
The ability to understand, interpret and apply departmental policies and procedures
The ability to process large volumes of work and meet deadlines
Detail-oriented skills with a high degree of accuracy
The ability to demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in an ever-changing environment
The ability to understand, interpret and apply diverse Canadian and International educational systems against established admission criteria
The ability to work with international and domestic partners
The ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
A demonstrated commitment to service excellence

The ability to effectively work in a team environment.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of an undergraduate baccalaureate degree in a relevant field
Minimum of three years of experience in program evaluation in a post-secondary institution, including evaluating Canadian or International education academic qualifications
Familiarity with and work experience in Alberta secondary and/or post-secondary institutions
Knowledge of PLAR and transfer credit processes
Knowledge of PeopleSoft – Campus Solutions or a similar student registration system is critical
Experience working with Government funding sources
Experience with domestic and international recruitment agencies and admission of candidates into credit and non-credit programs.
Equivalencies will be considered.
