Great Canadian Holidays and Coaches Looking for Financial Analyst at Kitchener, ON Full Time

Position Summary

The Financial Analyst position will perform day to day processing of various accounting transactions to ensure the company finances and supporting documentation are maintained in an effective, up to date and accurate manner. The Financial Analyst will also be expected to analyze financial information, prepare all balance reconciliations, evaluate and participate in Internal Control process improvement.

Duties and Responsibilities

Financial Reporting

• Preparation of company financial statements
• Prepare month end journal entries and accruals
• Complete all balance sheet reconciliations and income statement analysis
• Explain key movements on financial statements to management
• Experience in aspects of intercompany accounting
• Lead the coordination of all audits

Management Accounting needs and systems

• Work with software suppliers to create new and improved management and financial reports to better meet the information needs of the organization
• Streamline flow of information between software providers

Payroll

• Serve as the backup to the general accountant for processing payroll This role will be required to process payroll on a regular basis to keep their payroll skills sharp

Taxation

• Prepare and remit source deductions, payroll taxes and HST. Must be able to reconcile government statements to the general ledge
• Lead the coordination of all government inquiries and audits

Other duties as assigned

• Participate in all inventory counts and reconciliations
• Complete monthly agent commissions payment processing
• Focus on process improvement to improve efficiencies and internal controls
• Ad-hoc financial reporting & analysis to support the CEO & CFO

Qualifications & Competency

• Pursuing CPA designation
• Professional and ethical behaviour
• Knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and maintaining general ledgers
• Maintains high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial information
• Demonstrates confidentiality concerning financial and employee files
• Analytical decision making and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and interpersonal) and organizational skills
• Strong teamwork skills, with ability to work independently
• Desire to learn

Technical Competencies

• Computer skills including the ability to operate computerized accounting. QuickBooks online experience will provide the candidate with an advantage
• Experience using Microsoft office
• Email / calendar management at a highly proficient level

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $63,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
