Shift Pattern: 6 days on, 1 day off, 8 to 10-hour shifts
Location: Edmonton, City Limits
Job Overview:
As a Civil Construction Labourer / Traffic Flagging Attendant, you will be an integral part of our construction team, ensuring the safety and smooth execution of our projects. Your role will involve a variety of tasks including physical labor, site preparation, equipment maintenance, and traffic control duties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and clean-up of construction sites, ensuring a safe and hazard-free environment
- Perform various tasks involving physical labor for construction projects
- Operate and care for construction equipment and machines
- Help equipment operators, carpenters, and other skilled labor when necessary
- Prep construction sites by cleaning obstacles and hazards
- Direct traffic near, in, and around work zones and construction sites to ensure the safety of workers, pedestrians, and motorists
- Set up and take down traffic control devices and signs according to regulatory standards
- Communicate effectively with team members and follow written and oral instructions
- Adhere to company policies and safety standards at all times
Requirements:
- Must possess a valid Class 5 Driver’s License
- Ability to pass a drug and alcohol fit test as part of the pre-employment screening process
- Previous experience in civil construction or traffic flagging is preferred but not mandatory
- Strong physical condition and endurance to perform manual labor in various weather conditions
- Excellent awareness and commitment to safety protocols
- Effective communication skills for coordinating with team members and ensuring the safety of all parties in work zones
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required by project demands
