We are looking for versatile forklift operators who have experience operating heavy forklifts (30-50 tons) for our warehouse team. This is a full time, permanent position

YOUR ROLE
• Operate container forklifts, lift trucks and other heavy equipment according to move requirements on a daily basis,
• Perform container lifting on and off chassis and chassis stacking when needed;
• Ensure yard is serviced and maintained to provide optimal performance;
• Interact with dispatchers to work as a team when shipping and receiving railcars and trailers;
• Actively communicate with supervisors and operators to effectively handle material and notify them of problems/concerns;
• Properly document work performed;
• Assist in the effective completion of inventory audits;
• Clean up and dispose of scrap bracing, cardboard, and strapping and place in proper containers or designated areas;
• Use tools such as hammers and crowbars to remove strapping, open crates, strap cars;
• Complete inspection sheets;
• Maintain and service yard equipment to vendors requirements; i.e. Top-lift / Forklift / Power-pack (verifying oil levels, lubricants, etc.);
• Performs other related work as required.
All of the above major duties and responsibilities require the ability to be mobile in an industrial environment, to communicate effectively, organize effectively, with varying degrees of independence, judgment, and discretion.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL
• High school diploma is an asset;
• 2-3 years’ experience as a forklift operator ( big and small lifts) ;
• Experience with stuffing and destuffing pines, tubes and coils is important
• A valid reach stacker / forklift operator license (Counterbalance, Walkie, Raymond Reach, etc.) from a recognized training provider is preferred;
• Experience operating a Fantuzzi or KoneCrane Reach Stacker / Container Lift Truck, an asset
• Ability to lift approximately 20 Ibs repetitively and safety
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a solid team environment
Capacity to work effeciently in a high-pressure environment and in all climates (indoor, outdoor, 4 seasons);
