Hays Specialist Recruitment has partnered with a public financial services company based in Toronto, Ontario. We are seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to join their team immediately. This is a full-time role for 6 months, Monday to Friday. You will be working full time in office.
Your new role
You will play a key role within the accounting department. You will be responsible for the following:
· Preparation of monthly and quarterly forecasts
· Bank Reconciliations
· Liaise with AP, AR, Fix to maintain sub-ledgers
· Provide accounting support including insurance, tax, pensions and transactions
· Maintaining the ERP system
· Maintenance of GL Chart of Accounts
· Support with GST, PST and other tax filings
· Tracking loans and bank reconciliations
What you’ll need to succeed
· Diploma or University degree in related field
· A minimum of 2 years of experience in a public accounting firm, with a progression in complexity of responsibilities
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Knowledge of Caseware and Taxprep is strongly preferred
