- Time, Permanent*Department:* Health PEI, Medical Records*Location:* Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Charlottetown*Salary: *$24.33 – $26.48 Per Hour*Start Date/Term Length:* Commencing Immediately*About The Position:*The Data Analyst position provides expertise, leadership and supervision of the Health Information Management (HIM) staff. The position has key responsibilities which include the development of strategies to enhance data quality. Providing related training and advisory services will be a key aspect of this supervisory role. The position will support clinical and management decision making through the analysis, interpretation and reporting of clinical health data. The position will facilitate the development of department policies and procedures, ensuring the department is in line with current best practice. This position engages in direct customer service and must perform duties and conduct interpersonal relationships in a manner designed to project a positive image of both the department and Queen Elizabeth Hospital.Duties include:* Compiling statistical data and preparing reports required for management and physicians; creating and performing coding audits;* Ensuring the medical records are completed, maintained and regulated in conformance with policies and guidelines;* Creating reports using Crystal Reports and creating and running various CIHI E-Reports, ensuring the correct information is extracted and disseminating the information as requested or for data quality use;* Performing basic data analysis and utilization management activities;* Supervising Health Records Department staff & scheduling shifts;* Performing quality control measures by running monthly validation reports;* Participating on hospital committees as required;* Developing departmental policies and procedures;* Conducting performance development with staff;* Acting as system administrator for WinRecs;* Participating in and planning education sessions;* Performing other duties as required.*Minimum Qualifications:** University degree in Health Information Management or equivalent and/or graduate of an approved Health InformationManagement Program;* Current membership with the Canadian Health Information Management Association;* Considerable experience in a Health Records Department or other Health Information Management field is required;* Maintains and protects patient confidentiality;* Knowledge and competency in with computer spreadsheet and Health Records coding software programs;* Crystal Reporting knowledge;* A good previous work and attendance record.*Other Qualifications:** Candidates with previous supervisory experience will be preferred;* Experience in ICD 10, CCI, Cerner, WinRecs, Folio View is an asset;* knowledge of Hospitals Act and the Hospital Management Regulations an asset;* Knowledge of the Health Information Act and the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act an asset;* Minimum two-year coding experience* Additional relevant education and experience will be considered an asset.*Benefits:** On-site parking* Employee assistance program* Company events* Wellness programJob Types: Full-time, PermanentSalary: $26.25-$29.84 per hourBenefits:* Company events* Disability insurance* Employee assistance program* Extended health care* Life insurance* On-site parking* Paid time off* Vision care* Wellness programSchedule:* 8 hour shift* Monday to FridayAbility to commute/relocate:* Charlottetown, PE C1A 8T5: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)Application question(s):* Eligible To Work In Canada?* Current Membership with the Canadian Health Information Mananagemtn Association?* Successful completion of a recognized Health Information Management Professional diplomaWork Location: In person
