We are currently looking for an Personal Support Worker interested in a full-time or part-time position in the Greater Sudbury Area.
Compensation: $21 – $25 / hour (+$2)
Responsibilities:
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, meal preparation, mobility assistance, medication reminders, and light housekeeping.
- Demonstrated ability to deal with residents challenging behaviours
- Ability to work with individuals and families.
- Demonstrated ability to interact positively with residents, families and co-workers.
- Must have a positive attitude and be committed to fostering a healthy team environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Gather information and prepare reports.
- Ability to work under pressure.
Qualifications
- Personal Support Worker Certificate.
- Completion of high school or college diploma.
- Support care experience in a seniors home, long-term care, and/or hospital is an asset.
- Availability to work shifts: days/evenings/nights and weekends as required.
- Proficient technical skills to include but not limited to: MS Word and email.
- Able to work independently and in a team environment.
- Strong interpersonal/communication & organizational skills Effective problem-solving and conflict management skills.
- Proof of current immunizations for measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (MMRV).
- Proof of negative TB skin test within the past one (1) year or a negative chest x-ray within the past five (5) years.
- Recent Police Background Check.
- Updated First Aid CPR.
- Membership into the Ontario Personal Support Workers Association an asset.
