Digital & Broadcast Media Sales Representative

Full-time, salary TBD based on experience, October 2023 start date

Location: Beachburg, ON. Or Remote

Heliconia is looking for a full-time Sales Professional to sell strategic digital solutions and traditional broadcast TV partnerships within the outdoor industry. The Sales Representative would be responsible for managing relationships with current Heliconia partners and for developing new partnerships. The position also involves key sales tasks such as the creation of proposals, the negotiating of contracts, the updating of Heliconia’s CRM system, travel to events, and ongoing communications with project partners.

The successful candidate must be personable, self-guided, motivated, well organized, and have a strong B2B consultative sales background. The Sales Representative will work under the direction of the executive team and will be an integral part of all Heliconia projects.

Primary Responsibilities

Business Development and Partnerships:

• Prospect for new business, building relationships with key decision-makers including Presidents, CMOs, VPs, and Directors.
• Develop new business with existing clients, identify growth opportunities and foster ongoing partnerships.

Prospecting Techniques

• Utilize various channels for prospecting, including email, outbound calls, and face-to-face meetings.
• Get into your prospect’s world, understand their unique challenges, and collaborate with our strategy team to develop solutions that resonate and provide true value.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with multiple departments including sales, marketing, talent, and production to ensure alignment and effective execution.
• Assist in the development of best practices and case studies in collaboration with the sales team.

Sales Process And Contract Management

• Lead the development of presentations, proposals, and follow-ups, tailoring them to specific client needs.
• Negotiate contracts with a clear understanding of terms and expectations, and close agreements efficiently.
• Maintain an accurate and up-to-date CRM system to manage leads, opportunities, and customer interactions.

Communication And Support

• Clearly communicate with project stakeholders, providing support, timely updates, and recommendations for new opportunities.

Travel Requirements

• Represent the company at key industry trade shows in Canada, the USA, and internationally, as needed.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in MS Office or similar tools, and familiarity with CRM platforms (such as HubSpot).
• Strong presentation and negotiation skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly.

Skills And Qualifications

Sales Expertise:

• 3-5 years of B2B sales experience (minimum), with a track record of proven results (mandatory).
• Strong abilities in prospecting, presentation, negotiation, and closing.
• Experience with, or understanding of, Sponsorship, TV Broadcast and Digital Solutions is considered a major asset.

Industry Knowledge

• Familiarity with the outdoor industry, trends, and customer needs, regarded as an asset.

Communication Skills

• Excellent communication abilities, with an aptitude for conveying ideas clearly and persuasively to various stakeholders.
• Strong attention to detail in both verbal and written communication.

Organizational And Time Management Skills

• Exceptional organizational skills, allowing for efficient workflow management and multitasking.
• Outstanding time management skills, reflecting an ability to prioritize and execute tasks within deadlines.

Technical Proficiency

• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar tools, enabling effective data management, documentation, and presentation creation.
