Hercules Group of Companies Looking for Accounts Receivable Associate at Halifax, NS Full Time

We are looking for an Accounts Receivables Associate to join our collaborative finance department. Reporting to the controller, this role is responsible for collecting payments from customers, reconciling customer account issues, performing credit evaluations, setting up new customer accounts, and ensures the integrity of customer accounts.

Principle Responsibilities

• Contacts customers on overdue accounts and resolves outstanding issues delaying payment in a timely manner
• Establishes new customer accounts
• Maintains accurate, up-to-date records on calls and interactions with customers
• Maintains assigned customer accounts per accounting principles and company credit policies
• Conducts data entry of daily cash receipts
• Prepares and makes daily bank deposits
• Maintains accurate backup for cash receipts and related deposits
• Maintains credit hold lists and communicate to branches
• Provides relief for daily customer invoice posting
• Maintains head office petty cash box and related reporting
• Participates in annual inventory, one weekend per year

Required knowledge and training

• Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
• Post-Secondary Accounting Certificate/Diploma
• 2-3 years Accounts Receivable experience, in a medium to large corporation and/or in a multi-company environment
• Exceptional data entry skills
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
• Basic accounting knowledge
• Ability to work under pressure and in a fast faced environment
• Excellent ERP and Microsoft Office Suite skills
• Legally entitled to work in Canada
