Description:
The Service Technician Is responsible for the installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of a variety of coordinate measuring machines (CMM), machine tools and accessories. Identifies, analyzes, and repairs failures, orders, and replaces parts as needed. Performs start up testing and advanced customer training on features and maintenance of product.
Responsibilities:
Performs installation and machine maintenance including diagnosis, repairs, troubleshooting, certifications, and re-calibration of various machines at the customer sites to conform to factory specifications and accuracy standards.
Develops creative solutions to more unique, chronic, or complex issues.
Research and answers difficult customer questions about product features and recommends appropriate upgrades.
Supports service calls to customer sites to correct problems involving company products, diagnoses and corrects problems, and performs related duties to customer satisfaction.
Provides advanced technical support to other service representatives and customers.
Ensures prompt preparation and completion of service and expense reporting.
Provides the highest customer satisfaction in a professional manner.
Provides advanced mechanical tasks including assembly, disassembly, leveling, diagnosis and repair of issues on automated equipment.
Provides advanced electrical tasks including diagnosis, troubleshooting, and repair of control systems
Complete preventative maintenance and field modifications.
Keeps up to date with administrative responsibilities such as customer service logs and internal service records.
Maintains tools and test equipment ensuring they are properly calibrated.
Maintains daily communications with customers ensuring resolution and proper follow-up with complex issues in a timely manner.
Assists with mentoring less experienced Service Technicians developing their skill/knowledge through advice, coaching, and training opportunities.
Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Associates Degree or equivalent combination of technical education and work experience
4-7 years’ experience in mechanical, electrical, computer or software fields
Must be highly detailed-oriented and organized
Excellent written and communication skills
Strong Customer Service Skills
Creative, analytical, and driven
Excellent problem-solving skills
Adheres to safety guidelines
75% travel, domestic
