HSR Services Looking for Zero Waste Associate at Port Coquitlam, BC Full Time

Job Type: Zero Waste Associate

Work Hours: Ranging from 24 to maximum of 32 hours per week (hours may vary depending on project needs)

Work Schedule: Monday to Thursday (4 day flexible work week option)

Pay Rate: $25/hr to Start $30/h after 6 months

Location: Remote Work from home and at customer locations with periodic in-person team meetings.

This role promotes and enhances all aspects of Zero Waste education and Zero Waste services by working closely with other Zero Waste Associates and Coordinators.

Responsibilities:

The role’s primary responsibility is to –

• Conducting customer waste audit as lead auditor
• Perform facility assessment
• Draft audit and assessment reports
• Facilitate Zero Waste Certification process for customers
• Perform routine marketing and sales activities to attract prospective clients
• Attend virtual events to Elevate HSR Zero Waste presence in the marketplace and attract additional clients through: attending or presenting at virtual events and in front of customers and committees.
• Leverage existing contacts to increase HSR Zero Waste client base
• Drafting case studies
• Perform duties related to Zero Waste webinars and guest speaker sessions
• Deliver basic Zero Waste Education to clients and other organizations
• Other related Duties

Required Skills:

• Post-secondary education in environmental/sustainability field
• Experience in the collection of base data used to calculate Greenhouse Gas emissions and the calculation of GHG emissions using base data is a plus
• Knowledge of Zero Waste policies and programs
• Strong verbal, written, presentation skills and comfortable with public speaking
• Attention to detail and commitment to deliver high-quality work
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver commitments on time
• Enthusiasm to learn and develop in the field of Zero Waste
• Strong networking and interpersonal skills
• Strong focus on data integrity
• Must be able to work well independently with minimum supervision
• Able to demonstrate problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking skills
• Proficiency with MS Office, Excel, Google Docs, PowerPoint or similar applications
• Experienced within the environmental or waste industry is an asset
• Experienced within the consulting industry is an asset
• Zero Waste Canada’s Zero Waste Fundamentals Certificate is an asset (completion within probation period is required)
