Summary of Position

The Superintendent works with the Project Manager and Foreman to ensure construction complies with drawings, specifications and schedule. The Superintendent is responsible for, plans, and coordinates work of all trades, equipment, and use of materials on site to accomplish all activities safely, correctly and efficiently. The Superintendent is responsible for the successful completion of the project from start to finish.

Responsibilities

• Manage projects from planning, set up, execution, and to completion.
• Manage supervisors/foremen.
• Manage subcontractors.
• Manage equipment including company assets and rentals.
• Manage materials.
• Work with project management to set and maintain budgets and scheduling as set with Project Management.
• Manage budget and schedules to ensure production rates are met.
• Work with project management to arrange crew, equipment, materials, subcontractors, and other resources to to maintain project schedule.
• Manager crew, equipment, materials, subcontractors, and other resources to to maintain project schedule.
• Manage the production of the project crew, equipment, and subcontractor.
• Maintain and ensure that the owners requirements are obtained.
• Attend project meetings (bi-weekly/weekly).
• Attend bi-weekly internal management meetings.
• Manage relationship with clients and/or client representative.
• Manage relationship with project contract administrator and project site inspector.
• Execute construction plans, including traffic control, environmental controls and construction procedures.
• Direct and inform foreman, employees, and subcontractors of construction plans, including traffic control, environmental controls and construction procedures.
• Work in a busy and time sensitive environment.
• Study and complete detailed analysis of drawings, construction documents, specifications and related documents.
• Complete daily tracking of production rates (through mobile application).
• Manage site paperwork, i.e. daily work records, journal daily work, environmental and traffic sign diary’s etc.
• Prepare accurate data for extra work claims including labour, material, and delay time.
• Provide information to Project Management to efficiently execute a project.
• Execute documentation associated with tasks as per company policy.
• Administration HugoMB’s site specific safety plans, in coordinating the adaptation of the company’s corporate plan to a specific project including design and implementation of the site specific policy.
• Maintaining and grow HugoMB Contracting’s business.
• Conduct work to meet Company policies and objectives.

• Work outdoors in various conditions including heat and humidity, rain, dust, noise, and cold.
• Able to work throughout the province of Ontario as required, mainly within 3 hour driving radius of Orangeville, ON

Project Locations:

We complete projects located throughout the province of Ontario but for this position the project sites will mainly consist within 2 hrs driving distance of Meaford, Ontario.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years civil construction industry experience
• 2+ years of experience in a supervision role.
• Able to drive throughout the province of Ontario
• Must have extensive knowledge of the civil construction industry
• Must possess a valid G driver’s license
• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
