Platform engineering is revolutionizing how enterprises build and run their cloud-native setups. Humanitec is at the core of this revolution, enabling teams to build Internal Developer Platforms (IDPs) and reach true developer self-service.
Through our community-led efforts (platformengineering.org, PlatformCon) and roster of enterprise customers, we are hitting an inflection point in the adoption of IDPs. We are looking to aggressively scale the team to meet the increasing demand.
As an Enterprise Sales Engineer, you will help Platform Teams at some of the most well-known enterprise companies to choose the Internal Developer Platform of their dreams with Humanitec.
Sales engineers help qualify and close opportunities with customers and partners. You will provide technical expertise through sales presentations, product demonstrations, and supporting technical evaluations.
Enterprise Sales Engineers also have a voice with the product team to help prioritize features based on input from customers and partners.
Responsibilities
Partner with the Sales Team to articulate the overall Humanitec value proposition, vision, and strategy to customers
Own technical engagement with customers during the trial phase. Communicate Humanitec’s value based on activities and work with customers on any identified issues or concerns to a successful conclusion
Technically close complex opportunities through advanced competitive knowledge, technical skill, and credibility
Deliver product and technical briefings/presentations to potential clients
Maintain accurate notes and feedback in CRM regarding customer input both wins and losses
Proactively engage and communicate with customers and Humanitec business/technical teams regarding product feedback and the competitive landscape
Contribute to playbooks and product marketing to bring down the learning curve for prospects
Requirements
Passionate about educating customers on DevOps with a focus/interest in Platform engineering that is meaningful to their business
Able to build and execute an evaluation plan with a customer
Exceptional written and oral communication skills. This role requires an ability to understand and articulate both the business benefits (value proposition) and technical advantages of our offering
Able to think creatively about a wide variety of challenges. You’re going to find new things every day
Good knowledge of at least one of AWS, Azure, or GCP and working knowledge of at least one other
Relevant Cloud technology certifications are preferred but not required
Hands-on experience deploying, managing, and debugging apps in Kubernetes
Experience with IaC tools such as Terraform or Cloud Formation
Someone with a minimum of 1 year in a Sales engineering or DevOps engineering role
Able to travel
