Humber’s Faculty of Liberal Arts and Sciences (FLAS) is hiring for the position of professors within our English Language Program at our partner institution, Kansai Gaidai University (KGU), in Osaka, Japan. This Humber-KGU program, jointly administered by Humber and KGU, operates at KGU in Osaka, Japan, and provides KGU students with the opportunity to learn English as a Second Language (ESL) in their home institution to smoothly pathway to study abroad opportunities.

What You Will Do
The successful candidates will be responsible for delivering a combination of English for Academic Purposes (EAP), Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) Preparation, Workplace Communication, and Canadian Society & Culture curricula at the KGU campus in Osaka. The successful candidates will teach a full range of courses and skills in the program, primarily in the EAP area and TOEFL exam preparation courses, including reading, writing, speaking, listening comprehension, grammar, research, and study/exam skills. They will also participate in the refinement and redesign of the curricula, define and evaluate learning outcomes, develop appropriate learning materials, and provide academic counseling to students with special consideration for the unique international context of the program. The incumbents will also be expected to collaborate with other members of the program within KGU, as well as staff within Humber’s FLAS, to support student pathways, provide mentorship, and contribute to the overall program and partnership.
