Position Title: Student Mobility Advisor
Status: App D Contract
Hours: 35hrs/wk
Faculty/Department: Office of the Registrar

What you will do:
Under the direction of the Manager, Student Transfer Services, the Student Mobility Advisor develops, coordinates and processes transfer credits and prior learning assessments in support of previous related academic and work experience. As part of Humber’s Strategic Plan to Enhance Student Choice by: Expanding Degrees and Pathways, the incumbent is the subject matter expert on transferability and pathways amongst Humber to Humber, and non-Humber to Humber courses and program options.
The incumbent provides information and communicates with prospective students, applicants, guidance counselors, parents, faculty, and college administrators regarding a broad range of transferability options. They will analyze and recommend solutions or enhancements to transfer related processes; advocate and support students with transfer credit enquiries and options. Additionally, the incumbent will create and update communications both in hard copy and online when information is revised, or new information is obtained regarding transfer credits, pathways, and Prior Learning Assessment Recognition. Through training sessions, the Student Mobility Advisor will train staff on new initiatives, revisions to the current process and highlight Ministry changes that impact transferability opportunities.
What you bring to the role:
Education: A three year diploma/degree or equivalent in Business/Public Relations.
Experience and Skills:
Three years related work experience.
Ability to work in a highly automated environment
Demonstrated use of initiative both in planning of work and in taking a pro-active approach to addressing customer concerns. Escalating complaints and concerns if necessary to management.
Consistent attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks, frequent interruptions, fluctuating volumes and ongoing deadlines.
Superior communication skills with the ability to explain complex processes
Thorough knowledge of the secondary school, college and university system. In addition, some knowledge of the educational systems of other provinces and countries.
Leadership skills and the ability to work independently.
Ability to train and motivate a team.
Excellent organizational skills and presentation skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Microsoft Excel.
Demonstrated proficiency in student information systems, especially relational databases.
Ability to work in a highly automated environment.
A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle is required.
Successful Applicants:
Must have access to a reliable internet connection.
Must have a suitable and private work space to take calls from home/remotely.
Should be comfortable working from home/remotely and on-site as we are utilizing a hybrid approach at this point in time. There could be changes to this approach pending direction from government officials and public health.
